# DayZ - How does dupe work?

## 📦 Inventory Drop Duplication Method

This duplication method works by abusing a desync in how DayZ handles hand and inventory state changes.

***

### 🛠️ How It Works:

1. Hold an item in your **hands**
2. **Drop a item** from your **inventory**
3. **Pick the duped item** up into your inventory
4. **Relog**

After logging back in, you will often have **both items** — one in your hands and one in inventory.

### ✅ Server Compatibility

| Server Type | Status | Notes |
| ------------------------------------- | ---------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Official Servers | ✅ Works | Still undetected at time of writing |
| Most Community Servers | ⚠️ Varies | Dangerous on big servers like Rearmed, The Lab and Sunnyvale + other servers |
| Detected Servers - Rearmed, Sunnyvale | ❌ Detected | |

> ⚠️ Always test carefully. Some servers kick, log, or silently flag players for dupe.
